We are honoured and excited to welcome you to the 2021 SPE Middle East Oil & Gas Show and Conference (MEOS 2021), that is being held during 28 November – 1 December 2021 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This is the 22nd edition of MEOS, a biennial technical exchange and exhibition that is held under the patronage of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

We applaud the programme committee for their dedication and resilience in pulling this through, especially during this period of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The theme of the conference “Shaping the Future of Energy in a Dynamic World”, is apt for the times that we are in, since the first quarter of 2020 when the outbreak of the virus was reported. What we know of our world, prior to now, has been drastically changed following the implementation of the numerous protocols put in place to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 to the human race. This has affected our ways of living, working and interaction.

With the advent and full adoption of IR 4.0 in the Energy Sector, we are witnessing strategic and high impact collaboration in digital transformation initiatives that target reduced drilling and completion costs, improved production planning, autonomous reservoir optimisation in addition to our industry’s major challenges of profitability, operational efficiency and safety.

MEOS is one of the most established showcasing of oil and gas (energy) products and services in the Middle East, that attracts NOCs, IOCs and major operating companies within the region.

This conference will include a number of technical and panel sessions on Crisis Management, Vision to Reality, Towards Neutral Carbon Emission, Talent 4.0, Local Content and Academia-Industry Partnerships.

We believe that these capture a wide range of interests that should enable robust discussions and subsequent collaboration on how we can harness the relevant IR 4.0 technologies (Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning and 5G) to shape the future of energy in our ever dynamic world.

We wish you the very best during MEOS 2021 and a pleasant stay in Bahrain.
